“More than 49.3 million tons of the transported goods [around 20% of the total sum] pertained to agricultural, livestock and foodstuff products, showing an 8% rise compared with the similar period of last year,” the official was quoted by IRIB News as saying.
Roads Minister, Mohammad Eslami, has recently voiced concerns about the slow pace of transportation of goods from the country’s ports to their destinations. The official told IRNA that the capacity to store goods in ports are limited and there is a need for prompt transportation of commodities from the country’s southern and northern ports.
