Tehran Shares Slip, TEDPIX Down 1.16%

EghtesadOnline: Tehran stocks closed the last day of trading week Wednesday in the red amid mounting selloff pressure.

The main index of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, lost 18,259 points, declining 1.16% to finish trade at 1,561,416. 

The equal-weighted index was down 0.6%, indicating that both large and small cap shares declined for the day. 

Shares in refinery companies were winners while metal, mineral, auto and bank stocks were in the losing camp. 

Retail trade declined by 17.7% on Wednesday to reach 108.2 trillion rials ($360 million), according to eghtesadnews. Capital outflow of 2.5 trillion rials by retail investors was reported. 

Market indicators dropped despite the fact that institutional traders in most big listed companies, including auto, steel, bank and petrochemical companies, tried to lift demand.  

About 6.59 billion shares valued at 92.8 trillion rials ($294.61m) changed hands at TSE on Wednesday. 

Trading at TSE and over-the-counter Iran Fara Bourse starts on Saturday and ends Wednesday.

Mellat Leasing Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 5% to 11,550 rials per share. SAIPA auto company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies plunging 5% to 2,850 rials per share.

Mobarakeh Steel Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by National Iranian Copper Industries Company, Golgohar Mining and Industrial Company and Iran Khodro Company.

Esfahan Oil Refining Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index, followed by Tamin Petroleum and Petrochemical Investment Company, Tehran Oil Refining Company and Bandar Abbas Oil Refining Company.

The Price Index lost 5,451.8 points, or 1.32%, to close at 408,755.63. The First Market Index went down 20,394.91 points, or 1.78%, to post 1,124,678.91.Second Market Index was down 9,116.5 points, or 0.28%, to reach 3,244,831.11.

The Industry Index lost 15,274.95 points or 1.10% to register 1,379,187.93. The Free Float Index was down 24,393.38 points to hit 2,096,217.22. TSE 30 went down 1,300.89 points to settle at 80,722.43 and the TSE 50 ended 882.67 points lower to finish at 62,016.7.

 

IFX Loses 1.09%

Iran Fara Bourse main index, IFX, lost 198.87 points, or 1.09%, to close Wednesday trade at 18,075.02.

About 1.91 billion securities valued at 34.66 trillion rials ($110.05m) were traded at the junior exchange for the day.

Sepehr Saderat Financial Group Investment Company had the highest number of traded shares and trade value as 380.8 million of its shares worth 5.47 trillion rials ($17.4m) were traded.

Arya Sasol Polymer Company, Sepehr Saderat Financial Group Investment Company, Saba Tamin Investment Company and Esfahan Steel Company had the most negative impact on IFX. 

Iran Fara Bourse gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Damavand Power Generation Company, Omid Taban Hoor Energy Management Company and Tejaratnou Insurance Company.
