Iran's H1 Upstream Copper Production Reviewed

EghtesadOnline: The National Iranian Copper Industries Company and its subsidiaries, including Sungun Complex, Miduk Complex and Sarcheshmeh Copper Complex, produced an aggregate of 599,624 tons of copper concentrate during the first half of the current Iranian year (March 20-Sept. 21) to register a 1% growth compared with last year’s similar period.

The data were released in Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization’s latest report.

The output during the month to Sept. 21 stood at 106,615 tons, marking a 1% decline compared with the same period of last year. 

An aggregate of 179,536 tons of copper anode were produced during the six months under review, up 10% YOY. 

Sarcheshmeh Copper Complex accounted for 117,094 tons of the total sum and Khatoonabad Copper Cathode Production Plant produced 62,442 tons of copper anode during the said period.

Around 30,303 tons of copper anode were produced in the month to Sept. 21, up 30% year-on-year. Sarcheshmeh accounted for 19,716 tons of the output during the sixth month of Iranian year. 

Production of copper cathode hit 139,899 tons in H1, up 6% YOY.

Sarcheshmeh Copper Complex and Miduk Complex accounted for 86,693 tons and 53,206 tons of the total copper cathode output, respectively. 

Around 24,198 tons of copper cathode were produced during Aug. 22-Sept. 21, indicating a 10% growth compared with the same period of last year. 

A total of 3,601 tons of molybdenum were produced during the six-month period, IMIDRO data show.

Molybdenum output in the month ending Sept. 21 amounted to 585 tons.
