EghtesadOnline: Petroleum Minister Bijan Zangeneh said on Saturday that the damaged phase of Bu Ali Sina petrochemical site in Mahshahr in Southwestern Iran will restart operation within the next two or three weeks.

According to IRNA, Zangeneh made the remarks speaking to reporters while he was standing beside Reservoir 2001c which caught fire on Wednesday. The blaze was extinguished early on Saturday.

Appreciating the efforts made by the firefighters in putting out the fire, Zangeneh said that crisis management headquarters and those in charge of the operation to extinguish the blaze acted well and professionally.

The most important part of the operation was cooling the LPG, Benzene and naphtha reservoirs so that their pressure would not exceed the usual amount, the minister said.

He said that precautionary measures are being carried out to prevent the repetition of the fire.

The fire broke out in Bu Ali Sina petrochemical site on Wednesday and it took until early on Saturday that the firefighters could extinguish the blaze.

Zangeneh is on a visit to Mahshahr to oversee the firefighting operation at the scene.
