Iran window to more Asia ties: Brazilian envoy

EghtesadOnline: Ground is ready for enhancement of relations between Tehran and Brasilia in the post-sanctions era, Brazilian Ambassador to Iran Santiago Irazabal Mourao said on Wednesday.

He made the remarks in a meeting with Head of Tehran Chamber of Commerce Masoud Khansari.

Brazil regards Iran as an open window to furthering ties with Asia, Mourao said.

The official said that Brazil and Iran have on their agenda launching a shipping line linking the Iranian southern port of Bandar Abbas to Brasilia, as well as joint investments in petrochemical industries and production of Bus and truck chassis.

For his part, the head of Tehran Chamber of Commerce said that Iran is ready for joint investments with the Latin American country.
The two countries should promote their trade exchange level to five billion dollars, Khansari said.

Iran and Brazil should promote joint investments in the fields of agriculture, mining, petrochemical and auto industries, he said.

Launching direct flight and maritime lines can help enhance cooperation between the two states, he added.

Khansari also said that the Tehran Chamber of Commerce is ready to dispatch trade delegations to Brasilia for negotiation.
