Turkey faces the challenge of picking up the pieces after their democracy came under siege by a faction of military forces who sought to end the rule of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan citing the leader's drift away from the country's long-held secularist values.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Prime Minister Binali Yildirim have separately appeared on television, declaring that the coup attempt is over and that they continue to be in charge.
