EghtesadOnline: Spokesman for Majlis (Parliament) Presiding Board quoted Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif as saying that despite all anti-Iran measures, the investment in the country has been increasing.

According to IRNA, Behrouz Nemati made the announcement while talking to reporters after the Sunday Majlis closed session in which Zarif briefed parliamentarians on several issues.

Referring to remarks made by Zarif in today's session, Nemati quoted him as saying that certain factions in US Congress try to spread Iranophobia and show that business in Iran is not profitable, but Iranian government has confronted these efforts and investment in Iran has been increasing.

Zarif also presented reports on recent terrorist events in France and Friday coup in Turkey, the lawmaker added.

On terrorist attacks in France, Zarif said these events have nothing to do with religion but are happening by new generations of immigrants in France and should be seen in the context of social problems in that country.

However, Iran's Foreign Ministry condemns any terrorist attack including that which happened in France, Nemati quoted Zarif as saying.

On Turkey coup, Zarif said he condemned the coup in his telephone conversations with his Turkish counterpart.

According to Nemati, the foreign minister believed that Turkish people are the only ones that can strengthen democracy in their country.
