Iran, Tajikistan Opt for Broadening of Cultural Cooperation

EghtesadOnline: Senior Iranian and Tajik officials in a meeting in Dushanbe underlined the need for boosting mutual cooperation between the two countries, specially in area of culture.

During the meeting in the Tajik capital on Thursday, Iranian Cultural Counselor in Tajikistan Ebrahim Khodayar and Tajikistan's international affairs director from Tajikistan culture ministry discussed ways for expansion of cultural and artistic cooperation between Iran and Tajikistan, FNA reports.

The two sides also agreed on holding a ceremony in October to commemorate three great Persian poets as the common heritage of Iran and Tajikistan.

In a relevant development in March 2015, the Iranian and Tajik officials explored avenues for expanding economic, trade and cultural interactions between the two countries.

The discussions were made in a meeting between Iranian Ambassador to Dushanbe Hojjatollah Faqani and Saqad province's Governor-General Abdolrahman Qaderi.

During the meeting, Faqani noted that the two countries enjoy good capacities to cooperate in economic, trade, energy, water, mine exploitation, educational and cultural fields, and stressed Tehran's preparedness to the development of interactions in all fields desired by the Tajik side.

He also expressed pleasure in the enhancement of the level of economic relations between Iran and Tajikistan in the past year, and said the two countries' provinces play an important role in this regard.
