EghtesadOnline: Iran described as ‘biased and unbalanced’ the UN chief’s report on implementing Resolution 2231 of the UN Security Council.

“The report has been prepared due to US pressures on UN Secretariat, and the allegations against Iran are unfounded,” said Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi.

He noted that the report runs counter to the JCPOA and even the Resolution 2231, saying that, “The report came whereas the Resolution 2231asserted that the JCPOA and agreement on the JCPOA show fundamental changes by the UN Security Council in the process of investigating Iranian nuclear program.”

He said this kind of reporting by the UN Chief is an administrative routine and is repetitious and came only for exploratory purposes.

It also lacks any executive and practical prosecution by the UN Security Council, Qassemi said.

On July 7, Reuters quoted a confidential report by the UN secretary general as saying that Iran's ballistic missile launches “are not consistent with the constructive spirit” of the JCPOA, further urging Tehran, to "refrain from conducting such ballistic missile launches since they have the potential to increase tensions in the region."

He also rejected remarks of French UN ambassador François Delattre on Iranian regional policy, saying that remarks of French ambassador lack reality and aim to hide all-out French intervention in Syria.

He said that the intervention has imposed large human and financial damage to Syria.
