EghtesadOnline: Iran is concluding a deal on light beam project with Italy and has held talks with France on a big project in the field of particle physics, deputy minister of science, research and technology for research and technology affairs Vahid Ahmadi said on Sunday.

According to IRNA, Ahmadi said that in post-sanctions situation, communication of Iranian universities with other countries increased, as the Iranian presence in International Center of Theoretical Physics (ICTP) and CERN and SESAME projects beefed up.

SESAME is a joint project between Iran and regional countries in Jordan to build a synchrotron for scientific use.

Iran became a member of SESAME in 2007 after Majlis approved it. The project is considered among advanced engineering of particle physics which has wide applications in various fields such as medicine, environment and agriculture.

CERN is the biggest laboratory in the field of fundamental particles physics and nuclear physics in the world. It was developed in September 29, 1954 by the European Organization of Nuclear Research.

Suitable atmosphere for broadening scientific cooperation with many European and Asian states such as Germany, Italy, France, Austria, Finland, South Korea and Japan has also been prepared, he said.
