EghtesadOnline: Iranian parliament speaker Ali Larijani said Iran and Malaysia have very similar views on the ongoing crises in the Middle East, particularly terrorism.

Speaking to reporters following a meeting with speaker of Malaysian parliament (Dewan Rakyat), Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia, in Tehran on Tuesday, Larijani said the two sides believed that regional crises have caused many problems for the security of Muslim countries, reports ISNA.

Pointing to the two sides’ talks about ways to improve parliamentary and economic relations, he added that Iran attaches great importance to bolstering ties with Malaysia as an important Muslim country.

The top Iranian parliamentarian expressed hope that “all-out cooperation between Iran and Malaysia would lead to the development of a dynamic economy among Muslim countries.”

The Malaysian parliament speaker, for his part, said Iran plays a leading role in the region.

He added that the Malaysian government would pave the ground for improving trade cooperation with Iran.

Mulia arrived in Tehran on Tuesday for an official visit at the invitation of the Iranian parliament speaker to discuss bilateral issues in meetings with senior Iranian authorities.
