Daesh, al-Qaeda networks dismantled in Pakistan's Balochistan

EghtesadOnline: Pakistani security forces and intelligence agencies dismantled networks of al-Qaeda and Daesh in Balochistan province, according to local authorities.

Interior Minister Balochistan, Sarfaraz Bugti said on Saturday that an al-Qaeda commander along with five accomplices has also been arrested from Nushki area of the province, reports IRNA.

Making a statement before the provincial assembly of Balochistan, he said that 'proxy war is going on in Balohistan' but 'we are not afraid and would continue to fight till the last terrorist is killed.'

He said that during the operation huge cache of arms, laptops and banned literature have also been confiscated.

Although Pakistan government and army have repeatedly denied organized presence of Daesh in Pakistan but in recent year, there have been reports by the Pakistani media and by Pakistani local authorities about activities of Daesh in the country. 

Earlier, Balochistan interior ministry had stated that 13,575 terrorists were arrested while 337 killed in around 2,825 operations in the province in 2015-16.
