11th Silk Road Mayors Forum starts in Iran's Qazvin

EghtesadOnline: Qazvin province in west of the Iranian capital city of Tehran is hosting the 11th Silk Road Mayors Forum that started work here on Saturday for two days.

At the opening ceremony, Mayor of Qazvin Massoud Nosrati welcomed the domestic and foreign guests, reports IRNA.

Then, the message of the United Nations (UN) Secretary General Ban Ki-moon was read out to the participants. 

150 domestic and foreign journalists and reporters as well as over 45 photographers are covering the global event here.

200 cities from 167 world countries are located on the way of the Silk Road.

The Silk Road or Silk Route is an ancient network of trade routes that were central to cultural interaction through regions of Asia connecting the West and East.
