Iran, Bulgaria review expansion of cultural cooperation

EghtesadOnline: Managing Director of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) Mohammad Khodadadi met on Thursday evening with the President of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences Stefan Vodenicharov on expansion of mutual cooperation and exchange of scientific information between the two sides.

Lack of information on each other's capabilities has restricted ties and interaction between the two sides, leading to lack of correct information, information gap for businessmen as well as lovers of culture, politics, arts and tourism in both countries, Khoddadi said. 
Through exchange of information between Bulgarian news agency (BTA) and IRNA , the two sides can broaden exchange of news as well as scientific information at the earliest which will leave positive impact on flow of information, expansion of political, economic, cultural, scientific and social interaction and cooperation between the two countries, Khoddadi said. 
IRNA is well prepared to broaden scope of cooperation with the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, he said. 
Through employment of the new technological know-how such as satellite, cell phones, internet and computerized programs, the two sides can exchange information at the earliest, Khoddadi said. 
President of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences Stefan Vodenicharov, for his part underlined the very good relations between Bulgarian Academy of Science and the Islamic Republic of Iran and appreciated the close cooperation and assistance of the Iranian embassy in Sofia for taking initiatives for signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for expansion of cultural cooperation between the two sides. 
The MoU inked between the two sides' scientists this year can help promote science and knowledge between the two countries, Vodenicharov said. 
Role of both sides' news agencies in broadening cooperation between the two countries will be of prime importance, he said and called for benefiting from both sides' capabilities in broadening ties and cooperation.
