Culture minister stresses need to boost cultural ties with China

EghtesadOnline: Culture Minister Ali Jannati on Monday underlined the necessity to expand cultural relations between Iran and China.

Jannati made the remarks during a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Luo Shugang on the sidelines of the Silk Road International Cultural Expo in the northwestern Chinese city. 

Noting that Iran and China have more than 2,000 years of cordial relations, the minister stressed the role of reviving the Silk Road. 

Jannati hailed China's positions in Iran's nuclear talks with the world powers last year, saying the Iranians will never forget China's role in the negotiations over Iran's nuclear program. 

The Chinese minister, for his part said that the presence of the Iranian culture minister in the Silk Road International Cultural Expo is of special significance. 

Referring to good relations between the two countries, Luo expressed hope that the agreements reached between Iran and China during a visit to Tehran by Chinese President Xi Jinping will become operational soon.
