Omani Minister: Iran, Oman determined to boost politico-economic ties

EghtesadOnline: Omani Minister of Commerce and Industry Ali bin Masoud al-Sunaidy said on Sunday that the two countries have good friendly relations and determined to boost political, economic and trade relations.

He made the remarks in inauguration ceremony for the first shipping line between Bandar Abbas and Port Khasab of Oman, according to IRNA.

Al-Sunaidy said that launching the commercial and passenger shipping line between the two ports is an important step to develop tourism industry.

Hormuzgan Governor General Jassem Jadari said in the meeting that Iranian government welcomes foreign investment in border provinces, especially Hormuzgan.

Bandar Abbas is 114 kilometers away from Khasab Port in Oman.

Al-Sunaidy will attend Tehran-Muscat Joint Economic Commission in Tehran on Monday.

Oman has good political relations with Iran and that the Omani market is important for businessmen from the Hormuzgan province.

Short distance, less transport expense, cultural and religious common grounds, interests of Omani people in Iranian products are all the advantages of trade with Oman.
