Iran wins seat in Universal Postal Union’s Council of Administration

EghtesadOnline: Iran has been elected to the Council of Administration (CA) in the Universal Postal Union (UPU), the main decision-making body of the United Nation's specialized agency responsible for the development and cooperation of international postal service.

Iran won the seat on Wednesday at the 26th UPU Congress presently underway in Istanbul, Turkey from Oct 1 to 7.

Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Iran Mahmoud Vaezi who heads Iranian delegation in the UPU congress arrived in Istanbul on Monday, reports IRNA.

The congress is held every four years and the last congress was held in Doha, Qatar. 

More than 2,500 representatives from 192 countries are participating in the congress.
