Iran, Germany to expand cooperation in renewable energy

EghtesadOnline: An official with Niroo (electrical power) Research Institute said that implementation of nuclear deal has provided an opportunity for scientific and research exchanges, adding that Iran and Germany are to boost cooperation in renewable energies.

Georg Ghare Patian referred to joint cooperation between German Federal Ministry of Education and Research and Iran's Ministry of Energy, adding that today scientific activities are not restricted to specific countries and scientific exchanges have turned into a development factor. 

He said that international affairs office of Niroo Research Institute was opened to follow mutual research and scientific projects with different countries, reports IRNA. 

Given the fact that Germany is a pioneer in electricity and energy fields, developing relations with German research institutes is on the agenda, Ghare Patian added.

He noted that cooperation with Max Planck Society, German Research Foundation (DFG) and The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has been operational.

He referred to the visit of members of German Federal Ministry of Education and Researchto Niroo Research Institute and a meeting with Deputy Minister of Energy for human resources, saying that development of scientific and research cooperation in the fields of solar power plants and wind farms and other renewable energies, fundamental research in power industry and holding joint training workshops were discussed during the meeting.
