Minister criticizes long queue of trucks in border crossing point

EghtesadOnline: Minister of Economy and Finance Ali Tayyebnia in meeting with his Turk counterpart Mehmet Simsek criticized long queue of trucks in common border passing points of Iran and Turkey for doing customs house work.

Tayyebnia, who is in Washington DC to attend annual meeting of World Bank, told his Turk counterpart that Iran insists and ready to remove the problem.

Regarding elimination of obstacles caused by sanction, Tayyebnia called for acceleration in development of bilateral economic ties and added that Iran is ready to accelerate trade process with Turkey beyond Customs Single Window to create joint Customs gate and this issue may cause basic development in bilateral trade, reports IRNA.

He underlined the necessity to develop banking cooperation between Tehran and Ankara, and said that Iran's banking system is ready to increase brokerage ties with Turkish banks.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Turkey Mehmet Simsek appreciated Iran's view on bilateral cooperation development and added that trade and investment volume between the two countries is not proportionate with their political relations.

He welcomed Iran's proposal for developing customs cooperation and expressed his country's readiness for this issue.

Simsek said that preliminary works for developing brokerage relations by several Turkish banks is preparing to be enacted soon by Iranian banks.

As secretary general of Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mine and Agriculture evaluated recently the trade volume level between Iran and Turkey is between 14 to 15 billion dollars.
