EghtesadOnline: Former Managing Director of National Iranian Tanker Company (NITC) Ali-Akbar Safaie says the Iranian oil tankers which had gone missing have been returned to Iran.

Safaie made the remark in reaction to reports regarding sanctioning of the NITC.

'No sanction against National Iranian Tanker Company is in effect and the company is free of any sanction and its fleet are present in the international markets,' he added.

Safaie made the remarks in a ceremony to welcome new managing director and bid farewell to the outgoing managing director of the NITC, reports IRNA.

He said that the NITC faced accumulated losses in the years 2009 to 2012 and in light of measures taken in the coming years, the losses were turned into profits.

On measures taken in connection with the so-called stolen tankers case, Safaie said it was a case in scrutiny in the period and the tankers were returned back to the country through endeavors of the board of managers, the judicial apparatus and the monitoring organs.
