Theatre, powerful device for dialogue between nations: Cultural official
EghtesadOnline: A cultural official who is in charge of a meeting of West Asian countries theatrical managers in Tehran says theatre is one of the most effective ways of holding cultural dialogue between the nations.
'Dialogue within the framework of cultural relations has always been the best way to get the nations closer,' Mehdi Shafiei told IRNA Sunday.
As Shafiei said, cultural interactions can also solve and remove problems and differences between the nations.
Undoubtedly, he said, development in the area of theatre will open the doors to expansion of international and intercultural relations.
About the Meeting of General Directors of Performing Arts of West Asian Countries which is slated for Oct 30 to Nov 1 in Tehran, the official said the event is taking place for the first time.
He added the top cultural officials from Algeria, Georgia, Oman, Tunisia, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Syria, Iraq, Russia, Lebanon and Qatar will attend the Tehran event.
The Tehran meeting will also prepare the grounds for signing joint agreements in line with regional activities in the area of theatre, Shafiei noted.
