Iran, Iraq sign judicial cooperation MoU

EghtesadOnline: Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani referred to constructive negotiations and sealing MoU on judicial cooperation with Iraq as the achievements of his trip to the country.

Larijani said the articles of the inked judicial MoU between Iran and Iraq included such areas as anti-terrorism campaign and fighting against smugglers, the issue of Islamic human rights, fighting organized crimes and narcotics as well as the international human rights. 

According to IRNA, he added that both sides underscored promotion of diplomatic, economic and cultural ties. 


Amoli Larijani, heading a high-ranking judicial delegation, arrived in Iraq last Saturday.

He met with a number of senior clerics of Najaf and discussed areas of cooperation between Iran and Iraq theological schools.

Iran Judiciary chief held meetings with the heads of three branches of Iraqi government.

He also met with Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani.
