Iran presented logical proposals for settlement of regional crises

EghtesadOnline: The Islamic Republic of Iran has presented realistic and practical proposals for settlement of crises in Syria, Yemen and Bahrain, Advisor to Majlis Speaker for International Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said on Tuesday.

Amir-Abdollahian made the remarks in a meeting with visiting State Secretary of Sweden Annika Soder in Tehran, according to IRNA. 

On longstanding Iranian relations with Sweden, Amir-Abdollahian said that Iran attaches great importance to expansion of economic cooperation with Sweden. 

He expressed pleasure with level of political and economic cooperation with Sweden, saying that the two nations would expand ties in all areas. 

He said that Iranian parliament and Iran-Sweden parliamentary friendship group are willing to expand cooperation with the Swedish parliament. 

He expressed deep concern about deterioration of humanitarian situation in Syria, saying that menaces of terrorism are spreading to other countries.

Amir-Abdollahian said that Iran and Iraq have 1,300-kilometer long border line and that Tehran attaches great importance to the restoration of security in the neighboring state of Iraq. 

Deploring the humanitarian situation in Yemen, he called for effective steps to be taken by the international campaign to end conflict in the Arab country. 

Soder said for her part Iran has effective part in the region to help restore peace and security and that the Swedish government welcomes expansion of parliamentary and trade ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran. 

She expressed pleasure with the fruitful and positive outcome of the nuclear deal clinched between Iran and P5+1 last November. 

Commenting on Iran's huge untapped capacities, the Swedish official called for expansion of economic cooperation between the two countries.

She emphasized the need for enhanced cooperation to thwart terrorism.
