EghtesadOnline: Ivanka Trump’s fashion brand is revamping its policies in the wake of criticism that the business is trying to profit from her father’s rise to the White House.

Her company drew flak after sending a “style alert” to journalists on Monday promoting a gold bracelet that Ivanka Trump wore during an interview on CBS Corp.’s “60 Minutes.” The piece is part of the Ivanka Trump Fine Jewelry collection, Bloomberg reported.

“This notification was sent by a well-intentioned marketing employee at one of our companies who was following customary protocol, and who, like many of us, is still making adjustments post-election,” Abigail Klem, president of the brand, said in an e-mailed statement.

The marketing pitch raised concerns that the brand is capitalizing on connections to Donald Trump’s incoming administration. The president-elect has said he will give control of his companies to his children, who are also part of his transition team.

This isn’t the first time that cross-promotion efforts have sparked questions. In July, the brand tweeted a link to a dress sold at Macy’s, urging followers to “Shop Ivanka’s look” from her speech at the Republican National Convention.

“We are proactively discussing new policies and procedures with all of our partners going forward,” Klem said on Tuesday.
