Dep. FM: Iran seeking visa lifting from Russia

EghtesadOnline: Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia-Pacific regions Ebrahim Rahimpour said on Friday that Tehran is to seek visa lifting from Russia.

Rahimpour who is in the Persian Gulf Island to attend the 8th international Iran Air Show, said the call for removal of entry visas to Russia indicated that the two countries have never had such an unprecedented broad-based relations in the long history of their bilateral ties.
Over 100 domestic and foreign firms attended the air show including Russia, Germany, Italy, England, Japan, Poland, Latvia, Singapore, Malaysia, Turkey, France and Ukraine.

Rahimpour told IRNA that expansion of strategic relations would be meaningless without expansion of security and military cooperation and that is why the issue of Syria tops Tehran-Moscow present cooperation.

He expressed hope that the two countries cooperation would lead to restoration of peace and security in the region.

The world is now looking for putting an end to Syrian crisis through peaceful means, stressed the official.
