Georgia a suitable place for investment by Iranian businessmen

EghtesadOnline: Georgian consul in Tehran Ruben Morgoshia said on Sunday that Georgia is a suitable place for investment by Iranian businessmen.

Morgoshia made the remarks in a meeting with the Head of Chamber of Commerce in Shiraz Mohammad-Sadeq Hamidian, according to IRNA.
There is a township in Georgia with 21 old hotels in it, which are ready to be reconstructed by the private sector, said the official, adding that it is a very suitable opportunity available to the Iranian investors.
Morgoshia referred to times easy taxation system in Georgia and said conditions are ripe for investment in the republic.
'For the time being, two foundation for support of investment, with a capital of about six billion dollars, are active and provides support for investors up until when their projects have fully commissioned.'
Investment for construction of hotels is tax free for ten years, he said.
Any foreign national, who registers a company in Georgia, will be regarded as the owner of the agricultural land he purchases, he said. 
There are about 15 direct flights between Tehran and Georgia a week and some 80 percent of the Iranian passengers take the air route, he said. 
Hamidian, for his part hoped for exchange of visits by the two sides' economic delegations. 
Economic situation in Iran is very lucrative, he said, calling for expansion of cooperation between the two sides' businessmen.
