Iran, Kazakhstan to broaden legal, judicial ties

EghtesadOnline: The Islamic Republic of Iran and Kazakhstan on Tuesday urged enhancement of legal and judicial ties between the two nations.

Prosecutor General Mohammad Jafar Montazeri who is in China to participate in the 14th meeting of the General Prosecutors of Shanghai Cooperation Organization, met his Kazak counterpart on the sidelines of the event and the two emphasized development of legal and judicial engagements between Tehran and Astana. 

According to IRNA, the 14th meeting of the General Prosecutors of SCO began on Tuesday in the Chinese city of Sanya in Hainan Province, in southeast of the country.

Montazeri heading a judicial delegation left Tehran for China on Sunday.

He is expected to address the meeting and meet with his SCO member states counterparts.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization is an international alliance comprising Russia, China, India, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

Iran is an observer state of the SCO.
