Ambassador stresses Tehran-Moscow joint anti-terrorism action

EghtesadOnline: Iranian ambassador to Moscow Mehdi Sanaei said on Friday that terrorist groups pose a threat to the entire world and suggested cooperation between Tehran and Moscow to thwart the phenomenon in the region.

Sanaei made the remarks in a live interview with Russian well-Known radio broadcaster Vesti FM, according to IRNA.

Expressing satisfaction with the current level of Iran-Russia ties, the ambassador said relations between the two countries can gain more pace in the light of better planning.

Referring to the grave security conditions in the region, the diplomat said that Iran and Russia, as two strategic allies, support the legitimate government in Syria and its fight against terrorist groups.

Asked to comment about expert views that Tehran-Moscow relations have become strategic, Sanaei said that outcome of a telephone conversation between the Iranian and Russian presidents ahead of the OPEC meeting showed that constructive cooperation between Tehran and Moscow can be fruitful.
