Three famous Iranian movies, 'Eternal Kids', So Close, So Far' and 'The Color of Paradise' are to be shown during the festival at the premises of Rawalpindi Arts Council, IRNA reported.
The festival began yesterday (Dec 4) with the movie 'Eternal Kids' directed by Pouran Derakhshandeh. According to Rawalpindi Arts Council, the film was welcomed by a good number of audience.
On Monday afternoon, Iranian film 'So Close, So Far' would be screened during the festival. Directed by Reza Mirkarimi 'So Close, So Far' was released in 2005. The film was also selected as Iran's representative for Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars.
'The Color of Paradise' directed by Majid Majidi is the last film of the festival to be screened on Tuesday.
A good number of people are coming to watch the movies with great interest. The movies are being shown on the big screen of the Arts Council.
Bollywood films used to be popular in Pakistan but after ban on Indian content because of recent tensions between the two countries Pakistani cinemas are looking for foreign content especially the Iranian films.
Just days earlier, award winning Iranian 'A Separation' was shown at Pakistan National Institute for Folk and Traditional Heritage (Lok Virsa) by the Mandwa Film Club in Islamabad.
