Omani delegation in Hormuzgan to study investment capacities

EghtesadOnline: A 17-member Omani delegation took a trip to Hormuzgan province to visit investment capacities and economic and industrial openings of the province.

The proximity of Oman and Hormuzgan, low transportation fees and the roads' safety are the most important investment advantages of Hormuzgan, the delegation representative Saeed Hamoud Alabousaeedi said. 

'We intend to invest in cement, plaster, clinker, medical, livestock and poultry equipment', he added.

According to IRNA, Director General of Foreign Trade of Hormuzgan Industry, Mine and Trade Organization Hossein Ansarian said that Oman is an exports destination market for Hormuzgan's commodities.

'The Omani delegation's trip aims at capturing trade and economic capacities of the province for marketing and exports', he added.

Based on the statistics, the value of exports to Oman was $172m in the first half of Iranian calendar year 1394 (ended on March 19, 2016), and the imports value was $43m which shows a trade surplus.

Head of Hormuzgan Industry, Mine and Trade Organization Khalil Qasemi said that during the first 3 months of the current Iranian calendar year (started on March 20) trade interactions between Iran and Oman had a 30% rise in weight and 130% growth in value.
