1.44m New Jobs in 1st Half

EghtesadOnline: The government generated 1,445,000 jobs during the first six months of the current Iranian year (started March 20, 2016), according to Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Ali Tayyebnia.

The minister added that in the whole eight years under former president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (2005-013), 14,000 jobs were added annually, IRNA reported.  According to deputy minister of cooperatives, labor and social welfare, Isa Mansouri, President Hassan Rouhani’s administration brings 700,000 Iranians into the labor market on a yearly basis. Mansouri said 667,000 net jobs were created in the last fiscal year (March 2015-16).
