W. Azarbaijan prov non-oil exports reach $313m

EghtesadOnline: Goods worth around $313m and weighing 1,191,000 tons have been exported from the province during the current Iranian calendar year (started on March 20, 2016), an official said.

Head of West Azarbaijan Industry, Mine and Trade Organization Jafar Sadeq Eskandari told IRNA on Sunday that the exports showed an 11% rise.

'The most important exported products consisted of floor covering, cement, products used in roof and facade, currant, fruit juice, biscuit, tomato paste and juice concentrates, apple, grapes, and watermelon,' he added. 

He referred to Iraq's 53%-share in West Azarbaijan exports, saying that in addition to Iraq, products were exported to Turkey, Afghanistan, Georgia and 
Turkmenistan. 

'Based on West Azarbaijan's 5-year development plan, exports are expected to reach $2b, $1,800,000,000 of which is related to products and $200m to services,' he added. 

'The development plans of the province consist of holding expert panels, dispatching and receiving trade delegations, making expert customs for carpets and engine oil, organizing trade cards, following up establishing exports management firms and adding advantage-exporting products to preferential tariff lists,' he said.
