Hormuzgan prov exports $8b worth of non-oil goods in 9 months

EghtesadOnline: Some 8 billion dollar of non-oil products have been exported from Hormuzgan to foreign countries in the first three quarters of the current Iranian calendar year (started on March 20, 216), an official said.

Addressing an expert meeting on Export Development Bank of Iran on Tuesday night, Chairman of Hormuzgan Industry, Mine and Trade Organization Khalil Qasemi pointed to the special economic capacities of the province, saying that the value of exports was over $1b more that what had been targeted, IRNA reported.

'Officials should take a special look at Hormuzgan as a trade city and the economic capital of the country,' Qasemi said. 

'Regarding Hormuzgan capacities, exports is of importance in this province and we hope for holding expert meetings to have further development in non-oil exports,' he said.

He pointed to the fact that President Hassan Rouhani's government supports non-oil exports, reiterating that one of the most important policies of the country to gain sustainable development is dynamic economy and inplementation of the economy of resistance in developing non-oil exports.

Hormuzgan with Shahid Rajaie port, Bandar Lengeh and 4 airports, accounts for half of Iran's exports and imports capacities.
