Rescue operation stops in east, south of Plasco building

EghtesadOnline: The spokesman of Tehran Fire Department Jalaleddin Maleki said on Monday that the rescue operation for finding those remained under the debris has been stopped in south and east of Plasco Trade Center building.

Talking to IRNA, Maleki underscored that so far the bodies of two firefighters and four others have been found in the rubble. 

Maleki noted the rubble removal operation is underway by firefighters to find possible victims.

Plasco Trade Center, the 17-storey building in Tehran downtown collapsed on January 19 while a number of firefighters were inside the building to rescue those trapped in the huge fire.

Plasco was the first high-rise building in the Iranian capital built in 1962.
