ICD meeting cancelled as sympathy with Plasco victims

EghtesadOnline: The Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) says it cancelled the International Customs Day (ICD) meeting as sign of sympathy with the bereaved families of the firefighters, who lost their lives in the Plasco tragic incident.

Fire erupted in the 17-storey Plasco high-rise at 8:00 hours Tehran times on Thursday, January 19, but the whole building collapsed at 11:30 hours and a number of firefighters, who were busy containing fire inside the building were trapped under the debris, IRNA reported.
One firefighter died of burns he received in the inferno and bodies of three others were unearthed in the search and rescue operations.
Governor of the IRICA declared cancellation of the ceremony on January 25, and postponed it to another appropriate time.
