Injury toll in Plasco collapse reaches 201

EghtesadOnline: The number of people wounded at the Plasco Trade Center collapse on Thursday has risen to 201, the director of Public Relations Office of Tehran Emergency Center said on Monday evening.

Hassan Abassi told IRNA on Monday night that the emergency technicians have pulled 154 wounded from rubble. 

'47 injured have been taken to Tehran hospitals one of whom is a firefighter who has been seriously injured in his back,' he said. 

He noted that rubble removal operation is still underway, saying that emergency technicians are ready to give any kind of relief and medical services to the injured. 

Plasco Trade Center, the 17-storey building collapsed in downtown Tehran on January 19 while a number of firefighters were inside the building to rescue those trapped in the huge fire.

Plasco, built in 1962, was the first high-rise building in the Iranian capital.
