EghtesadOnline: Iranian delegation, headed by Head of Aras Free Zone, Mohsen Khadem Arab-Baghi, and Head of Armenian Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Martin Serkisian, in Yerevan on Saturday explored avenues for boosting economic cooperation.

Arab-Baghi told the meeting, attended by a number of directors of Armenian companies and economic activists, that conditions are ripe for boosting ties and border free zones can play a crucial role in the field.

Referring to his two-day talks with the Armenian Minister of Economic Development and Investment, Suren Karayan, the official hoped that the relevant officials will facilitate presence of the private sector in various sectors to promote the value the two countries’ trade, IRNA reported.

Serkisian, for his part, said Tehran and Yerevan’s programs for developing cooperation in various fields such as energy indicate firm determination of the two countries to promote economic relations.

He also contended that given Armenian land borders with Iran, it can serve as a trade cooperation bridge between Iran and regional states.

Iranian delegation, comprising officials of Aras Free Zone and MPs of Jolfa and west Iran Armenians, arrived in Yerevan for talks with the country’s officials.
