EghtesadOnline: Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Sunday that a special committee will review presence of the US wrestling team in Kermanshah Wrestling World Cup.

According to the statement, the ministry underlined safeguarding the Iranian nationals’ rights and defending interests of the Iranian people after some reports were released on the presence of the US wrestling team in Iran Wrestling World Cup, slated for February 16-17.

The special committee is to make due decision on the presence of the US wrestling team in Iran in cooperation with a number of other relevant institutes in Foreign Ministry.

According to IRNA, the move was made after Iran decided to 'take reciprocal measures' after the US President Donald Trump signed a discriminatory executive order on January 27 which bans entry of citizens of seven Muslim-majority countries to US, including Iran.

Reacting to Trupm's Muslim ban, Iran's Foreign Ministry announced in an official statement on January 28 that is has made certain decisions to safeguard the rights of its citizens.

'To ensure respect for the dignity of all members of the great Iranian nation at home and abroad, the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran will engage in a careful assessment of the short and medium-term impact of the decision of the US. Government on Iranian nationals, and will take proportionate legal, consular and political action and -- while respecting the American people and differentiating between them and the hostile policies of the US Government – will take reciprocal measures in order to safeguard the rights of its citizens until the time of the removal of the insulting restrictions of the Government of the United States against Iranian nationals,' said the statement.

Trump's move has also triggered furious reactions all over the world, inside the US in particular.
