Although some had predicted that the automobile industry in Iran would die after the sanctions, it did not, Sasan Qorbani, secretary general of the 4th Iran Automotive Industry International Conference (IAIIC) said.
The conditions after the 2015 nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) have created a tangible competitive atmosphere in the country, the official said.
Qorbani then referred to the remarks made by President Hassan Rouhani during the last year IAIIC that the Iranian market will have further cooperation with the partners which will produce more auto parts in the country, IRNA reported.
The 4th Iran Automotive Industry International Conference (IAIIC) kicked off here Sunday in participation by 400 foreign companies.
Focusing on Sales and Aftersales, the IAIIC is the biggest automotive gathering in the country after the July 2015 nuclear deal.
Officials and directors of big Asian and European car manufacturers including Peugeot, Citroen, Scania and Renault as well as domestic car making companies have attended the two-day event underway in Milad Tower.
