Turkey keen on making investment in Iran’s auto industry

EghtesadOnline: A Turkish auto industry official said on Sunday that Ankara is keen on making investment in Iran’s automotive industry.

Chairman of Association of Automotive Parts and Components Manufacturers (TAYSAD) Alper Kanca made the remarks in the 4th Iran Automotive Industry International Conference (IAIIC) currently underway in Tehran. 

Kanca said Ankara is not only seeking to put up its products for sale in the Islamic Republic of Iran, but is keen on making investment in this country, IRNA reported.

He added the Turkish and Iranian companies are competing in some areas of auto industry, describing competition as pivotal in progress of each country. 

IAIIC kicked off in Tehran on Sunday with participation of 400 foreign companies.

Focusing on sales and aftersales services, the IAIIC is the biggest automotive gathering in the country after the July 2015 nuclear deal. 

Officials and directors of big Asian and European car manufacturers including Peugeot, Citroen, Scania and Renault as well as domestic car making companies have attended the two-day event underway in Milad Tower.

Some participating countries in the 4th IAIIC are France, Turkey, Germany, Spain, Italy, Japan, South Korea and China.
