Iran, Serbia stress on mining, energy co-op

EghtesadOnline: Iran’s ambassaor in Belgrade Hossein Molla Abdollahi and Serbian Minister of Energy and Mining Aleksandar Antić underscored both countries’ interest in developing mining and energy cooperation.

In the meeting on Friday, Molla Abdollahi said that grounds have been prepared in post-JCPOA era for developing cooperation and both countries would be able to take major steps for promoting mutual cooperation in energy field.

According to IRNA, he pointed to the upcomimg conference of Iran’s trade and economic abilities in Serbia, announcing that the event will be held with the attendance of the members of Iranian state and private sectors.

He also referred to Iran's private sector’s readiness in implementing joint projects between the two countries, saying that fresh potential in cooperation will be identified and introduced during the 15th Joint Economic Commission Meeting of Iran and Serbia which is due to be held in February 2017 in Belgrade.

Antić expressed hope for holding talks on developing cooperation in energy and mining fields with Iranian officials during his upcoming trip to Iran. 

He called for Iran’s participation in privatization process of Pančevo refinery and also emphasized both sides’ need to promote cooperation level.
