Dialogue based on honesty, solution to regional problems: Senior lawmaker

Kazem Jalali made the remarks on Sunday in a meeting with his visiting French President of Iran-France group Joël Guerriau, the Vice-President of the French Senate Hervé Marseille and their accompanying delegation, IRNA reported.

In the meeting, Jalali hoped Tehran and Paris would enjoy constructive cooperation based on the mutual respect in the post-Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) era.

After the July 2015 deal known as the JCPOA, good conditions were created for further ties between Iran and different world countries including France, Jalali noted.

He further said parliamentary relations between Tehran and Paris will lead to strengthen cooperation in different fields including economic exchange.

Iran as an independent and stable country in the region is after negotiations with the international community to find diplomatic solution to the regional problems, Jalali added.

Jalali, who is also Head of the Islamic Parliament Research Center, underlined that most of the problems the region faces are due to the US meddling and its wrong decisions.

Then, he stressed the necessity to deeply fight terrorism.

About situations in Iraq, Yemen and Bahrain, Jalali said the present Iraqi situation is due to the growth of extremism and terrorism there.

He went on to say, the Western media have kept silent on the Saudis’ massacre and bombardment in Yemen and Bahraini people suffering from hegemony of minority over the majority.

He then added, the West being the so-called advocate of the human rights have kept silent on the violation of the human rights in Yemen, Syria and Bahrain.

Iran is the main victim of terrorism, the official noted stressing that terrorism is an abominable phenomenon in any form and any name, and should not be divided into two groups of bad and good terrorism.
