Brick flooring of Fathollahov historical mansion discovered in N. Western Iran

EghtesadOnline: The remains of the destroyed brick flooring in the yard of the historical Fathollahov mansion was discovered in Arg-e-Alishah in Tabriz city, the Research Institute of Cultural Heritage and Tourism (RICHT) reported.

RICHT Public Relations Office quoted head of the exploration team of Arge Alishah, “Alishah Mosque” and Fathollahov historical mansion in Tabriz, Bahram Ajorloo as said during the period the team discovered evidence of the remains of the structure and foundation of the probably Qajar castle of Tabriz and stone and clay structures related to some type of water transfer system, according to IRNA.

The archeologist pointed to clay pieces dating back to Islamic civilization eras, especially Ilkan up to Qajar, as well as some pre-Islamic pieces as the latest discoveries in that valuable historical area.

He reiterated that in the course of the explorations the archeology team succeeded in identifying, excavating and documenting the remains of the destructed brick flooring of the yard of the historical Fathollahov mansion as well as an adobe structure which had been registered in the geophysical maps of Koroush Mohammad Khani.
