EghtesadOnline: Laboratory studies on three samples of buff clay works of the Burnt City and their comparison with the geology of the area under study have showed that the buff clay works are indigenous, the Research Institute of Cultural Heritage and Tourism (RICHT) reported.

RICHT Public Relations Office quoted a senior expert of archeology studies Yassin Sedghi as announcing this in the scientific session of the 12th biennial conference on preservation and restoration of historical-cultural objects, IRNA reported.

He outlined parts of the paper entitled “Study of the Structure of Buff Clay Works of the Burnt City in Petrographical and XRPD Method” and said clay works are the most abundant cultural-historical data that has been obtained in most ancient areas of the southeast, including the Burnt City.

Stressing that clay works enjoy high importance in archeological studies, the archaeologist further added that clay work is the only ancient object that after thousands of years is obtained without deep changes.

Sedghi said that archeologists believe that most of the clay works obtained had been made in the Burnt City and its surrounding areas, noting that laboratory studies have been conducted on three samples of buff clay works found in the Burnt City from the grave No. 8525, NFB.

According to him, on the basis of the results of the existing tests and their comparison with the geology of the area under study it was found out that the buff clay works are indigenous.
