EghtesadOnline: A global human rights movement has urged the United Nations to add the Israeli security and military forces to the blacklist of groups and organizations that systematically kill or injure children.

The Watchlist on Children and Armed Conflict recently called UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to blacklist the security and military forces of Israel for 'grave violations against children', the website of the group said.

According to IRNA, the global network of local, national and international non-governmental organizations which strives to end violations against children in armed conflicts has called on the UN chief to add 11 parties, including the Israeli security and military forces to its blacklist.

Having remained off the 2015 list following US and Zionist lobbying, the Israeli forces could now join a host of violent organizations, including the Pakistani Taliban.

The network said the Israeli military should be blacklisted for killing and injuring children and attacking schools and hospitals in Gaza and the West Bank.

'The new secretary-general has an opportunity to send a clear message to all member states that a party to conflict is listed for one reason alone—a pattern of documented, UN verified evidence of grave violations against children,' Watchlist advocacy officer Dragica Mikavica said in a statement.

The Watchlist has also recommended the UN to consider adding the Saudi Arabia-led coalition in Yemen, which was taken off last year's list by then Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon after the Saudis and their supporters threatened to stop funding many United Nations programs.
