Envoy: Supreme Leader, President Rouhani have strong views on relations with Russia

EghtesadOnline: Iran’s Ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanaei said on Saturday that both the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and President Hassan Rouhani as well as leaders of Russia pay special attention to Tehran, Moscow relations and the need for its promotion.

He made the remarks on the eve of President Rouhani's visit to Russia for a summit meeting with President Vladimir Putin in which important documents are expected to be signed. 

'Tehran, Moscow relations are beyond bilateral or even regional situation and anti-terrorist cooperation in Syria has become a role model in international arena.'

According to IRNA, the ambassador added that Tehran and Moscow policies in Syria crisis follow reduction of tensions and conflicts, while interferences from outside the region have caused complicated situation in Syria, Libya and Iraq.

Sanaei continued that success of the approaches and achievements of regional cooperation between Tehran and Moscow indicated that special ties have been established.

The ambassador referred to eight meetings between President Vladimir Putin and President Hassan Rouhani and said that negotiations and consultations in high levels have made more progress possible in bilateral and regional relations and with the upcoming visit, the two countries will witness even more development in the mutual ties.

President Rouhani is to travel to Moscow for a 2-day official visit on Monday at the invitation of President Putin. on Tuesday, key documents will be signed in the presence of the two presidents in Moscow.
