Linum khorassanicum is one of the latest discoveries which has made around the Persian New Year by a group of researchers at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad.
Another plant species is Linum turcomanicum that has been found and added to the plant list of Iran, according to ISNA.
These are collected from Gharkhod protected area of North Khorasan province and the Aladagh Mountains for the first time.
The modern botanical investigation using Morphological methods and DNA analysis in this study approved the accuracy of its achievement and the findings published in one of the great international journals.
The Aladagh Mountains situated in the southeastern section of North Khorasan province in the northeastern part of Iran, southeast of the Caspian Sea.
