EghtesadOnline: Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh announced on Saturday that the Persian Gulf Star Refinery (PGSR), the largest refinery in the country, will start producing gasoline within days during this week.

Zangeneh made the announcement while speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the 13th Iran Petrochemical Forum that kicked off today for two days, IRNA reported.

The first phase of the gasoline production will start temporarily in the PGSR in the forthcoming days; then it will become constant after being assured of the sustainability of the process of production, the minister noted.

About the international tenders for the oil fields, the petroleum minister said that the tenders will be held with participation of five or six countries after their financial and technical proposals are reviewed.

Already, several memoranda of understanding (MoUs) have been inked between Iran and the international companies, he said, adding those companies’ technical proposals are under revision.

On the talks with the Indian side on cooperation in the Farzad-B gas field, Zangeneh said that the negotiations still continue.

Meanwhile, the minister announced that Russia's Gazprom has expressed willingness to cooperate with Iran to develop the Farzad-B gas field.

Talking of the South Pars gas field which is named in Qatar as North Dome and is shared between Tehran and Doha, the minister stressed that the development of the joint gas fields is the country’s priority.
