EghtesadOnline: Visiting Italian Minister of Education, University and Research Valeria Fedeli conferred on Wednesday with Minister of Science, Research and Technology Mohammad Farhadi on expansion of academic cooperation between the two countries.

Italy is among European countries with constant good political and economic relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, Farhadi said.

"Iran is ready to fully implement the contents of the scientific memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the two countries one a half year ago," IRNA quoted him as saying.

Farhadi said Iran is ready for investment to help broaden scientific cooperation between Iran and Italy, Farhadi said.

Four Iranian universities offer Italian language while Persian language has been taught in Italy, he said.

Student placement is also among areas of cooperation between the two sides' universities, Farhadi added.

Visiting Italian minister, for his part, said Iran and Italy share many cultural and language commonalities and have properly understood each other and broadened bilateral ties.
