Turkey completes tender to construct wall on Iranian border
EghtesadOnline: After building a 688-kilometer-long wall on the border between Turkey and Syria, Ankara has completed the tender for a 144-kilometer wall on the border with neighboring Iran, Turkish Minute reported.
Ergün Turan, chairman of the Housing Development Administration of Turkey (TOKI), said they have completed preparations and are ready to start construction.
Fifteen border gates will also be built along the wall, ISNA reported.
The walls on the Syrian border consist of three-meter concrete blocks with one meter of barbed wire at the top.
The Syrian border wall is reportedly the third largest of its kind in the world.
